Defining the scope of a taskforce is the first and most important thing to get right in the taskforce process. A well-defined scope clearly sets out the problem the taskforce has been asked to solve, the approach to solving the problem, key deliverables, timelines and governance. This will provide clarity for roles and responsibilities, manage stakeholder expectations, and provide a framework for resourcing and project planning decisions.
